The sport of mixed martial arts/cage fighting is not a recent phenomenon. While dating back to the ancient Olympic games of 648 B.C., modern cage fighting has its roots in the no-holds-barred Brazilian martial arts tournaments of the 1920s. Today's fighters train using a variety of martial arts styles and disciplines. Fighters may train with multiple coaches or with teams of MMA combatants to hone their skills and abilities.

Area MMA fans will be treated to up to 20 action-packed bouts at THROW-DOWN AT THE FAIRGROUND VII, will be held on December 5th, 2009!
